Originally from Ingersoll, Ontario, Rob Thorpe was a student at Fanshawe College from 2005-2008, where he was a member of the Varsity Men's Volleyball team. He graduated from both the Fitness and Health Promotion Program as well as the Recreation and Leisure Services program. He is also a graduate of the Sociology program at Western University. Thorpe began working at Fanshawe in 2008 as the Athletics Customer Service Representative, then as the Sports Information Officer and in 2017 became a Varsity Athletic Officer. He and his wife Andrea have two sons, Ben and Thomas.
