Bio
Maria Rocca (née Colizza) was a member of the Fanshawe Women's Basketball team from 1981-1984. The Law and Security Administration graduate led the Falcons to a OCAA gold medal in her rookie season, with 41 points in three games at the 1981-82 championship.
Rocca was named a 2x OCAA Women's Basketball League All-Star (1982-83, 1983-84) and a 2x OCAA Tournament All-Star (1982-83, 1983-84). In 1982-83, the Falcons captured the OCAA silver medal and Rocca was named Fanshawe's Athlete of the Year. In 1983-84, Rocca once again topped the podium with the Falcons, averaging 16.7 points per game to lead Fanshawe to yet another OCAA title.
Rocca was known for being an outstanding rebounder and tenacious defender and had an impressive overall record of 43-9.
