Mike Lindsay retired in 2012 from the Fanshawe Athletics Department after 41 years of service. In September of 1971, he was first hired on as the Athletics Technician in the Fanshawe Athletics Department. In 1985, he became the Athletics Officer and assumed the role of Head of the Fanshawe College Athletics Department. In December of 2000, Lindsay was appointed as the new Manager of Athletics. During his career at Fanshawe, the varsity student-athletes and teams won an impressive 131 gold, 81 silver and 88 bronze medals at the Provincial and National level. Lindsay also started the Campus Recreation program at Fanshawe, which became one of the largest in the province. He held the title of OCAA Vice-President from 1995-97 and OCAA President from 2003-05. In 2009-10, Lindsay was named the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Athletic Director of the Year. He was also the recipient of the City of London's 2011 Mayor's Honour List for his contributions to sports in the London community. The countless awards that he won over the year's is a testament to the impact he had on Fanshawe College and the OCAA.
