(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics announced today, that Women's Soccer student-athlete Breanne Carreiro (Strathroy, ON) has been named the Fanshawe Female Student-Athlete of the Month for October sponsored by the Fanshawe Alumni Association.

The Falcons Women's Soccer team won their third consecutive gold medal on October 30 at the OCAA Championships, hosted by Fanshawe. Carreiro was named the tournament MVP after outstanding performances in Fanshawe's 1-0 semi-final win over Humber and 2-1 victory over St. Lawrence in the final. Carreiro had a total of 15 saves in the tournament, including a huge penalty kick save in the gold medal game. Carreiro is enrolled in the Office Administration program.

The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team will travel to Toronto for the CCAA National Championship from November 10-13, hosted by Humber College. In the quarterfinal, the Falcons will face the Capilano Blues from North Vancouver at 12:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 10.
