Falcons Men’s Soccer Team Fall to George Brown in OCAA Quarterfinal

(London, Ontario) – The No. 10 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Falcons Men's Soccer squad (5-0-2, 1st West) fell to the George Brown Huskies (4-4, 3rd Central) in overtime 3-2 at City Wide Sports Park on Saturday evening.

 

The teams exchanged goals in the opening half, with George Brown getting on the board first in the 15th minute of play. The goal against was the first given up by the Falcons this season. Fanshawe's all-time scoring leader, Mike Sneddon (Mount Brydges, ON) then scored for the Falcons after an excellent through ball from local rookie Jalen Loague. In an excellent battle, both teams had five shots in the first half.

 

After neither team scoring in the second frame despite some glorious chances, the game went into extra time. The Falcons struck first with a Bradley Heath (Markham, ON) penalty kick goal in the 104th minute. Unfortunately, George Brown was relentless, scoring two goals in the final nine minutes of play to take the 3-2 victory.
