(London, Ontario) – The OCAA Provincial Golf Championship concluded today at Crimson Ridge Golf Club in Sault Ste. Marie. The Falcons Men's Golf team brought home the first OCAA medal of the 2021-22 Fanshawe varsity season, capturing team silver.
Fanshawe finished with a three day team total of 936 (+72), just three shots back of first place St. Lawrence College.
Falcon first year golfer Mitchel Hampson (Mitchell, ON) led the Falcons with a three day score of 230, good for fourth place in the championship. Hampson posted rounds of 78-73-79 to finish +14. The OCAA silver medalist Falcons Men's team is rounded out by Luke Evans (Georgetown, ON) (10th-237), Jack Sue (Richmond Hill, ON) (T11th-238), Calvin Norris (London, ON) (T16th-244) and Colin Warren (London, ON) (T48th-322). The Head Coach is Colin Robertson.
With the silver medal finish, the team will advance to play in the CCAA National Championship from October 12-15 at the Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, ON. The event will be hosted by St. Clair College.
