Fanshawe Cross Country Finishes 7th in the Nation

(London, Ontario) – At the CCAA National Championship race on Saturday afternoon in Truro, Nova Scotia hosted by Dalhousie A.C, the Fanshawe Women's and Men's Cross Country teams both placed seventh in the nation.

 

The Fanshawe Women's team finished the six-kilometer race with a score of 129. The Falcons' top women's runner was Katie Rice (Ingersoll, ON) who finished 11th overall, running an impressive time of 23:12, her personal best of the 2023 season. Fanshawe's Katie Funk (Bancroft, ON) finished with a time of 25:01 and in 38th place. Grace Boyce (Markdale, ON) crossed the line in 51st with a time of 25:48 and Brooke Jez (Barrie, ON) finished 81st in 28:02.

 

The Fanshawe Men's team scored 103 points after completing the Men's eight-kilometer race and finished seventh in the country. Ethan Roche (Ingersoll, ON) led the Falcons with a time of 25:43, good for 11th place overall. Only 13 seconds behind was teammate Ty Breedon (Barrie, ON) who placed 13th in the race. Owen Wrigley (St. Mary's, ON) and John Berthelot (Blind River, ON) ran times of 28:03 and 28:44 respectively, placing 52nd and 57th.
