Woodhouse Named a CCAA Female Apprentice Coach Participant

(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics, in collaboration with the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), announced today that Montana Woodhouse will be participating in the CCAA Female Apprentice Coach Program with the Fanshawe Women's Volleyball team for the 2021-22 season.

The FACP, which is funded by Sport Canada, is designed to identify and support female graduating student-athletes who demonstrate the desire and skills for coaching by providing them opportunities to share in the coaching experience in CCAA sports.

Woodhouse is in her third year as an assistant coach with the Fanshawe Women's Volleyball program. In her first year, she helped coach the Falcons to an OCAA gold medal. Woodhouse has coached with the London Volleyball Club, the Ontario Volleyball Association Team Ontario program and at several camps, including London Volleyball Camp and Madawaska Volleyball Camp. Head Coach Patrick Johnston stated, "Montana has been a fantastic addition to the Women's Volleyball Program at Fanshawe. Her knowledge of the game and ability to build relationships with coaches and student-athletes alike leave no doubt in my mind she'll have a long and successful coaching career. Montana's analytical way of seeing the game leaves no stone unturned and I'm sure this will continue to benefit our program moving forward".

The goal of the FACP is to increase access for young women to coach at a post-secondary competitive level, provide high level quality coaching mentorship, and support their professional development to facilitate their continued pursuit of coaching.
