Fanshawe Women’s Soccer to Face Holland in CCAA Quarterfinal Match

(London, Ontario) – The OCAA Champion and No. 1 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Women's Soccer team will travel to Alberta for the CCAA National Championship from November 6-9. The National Championship will be hosted by Concordia University in Edmonton. In the quarterfinal, the Falcons will face No. 13 Holland at 12pm EST (10am MST) on Wednesday, November 6.

 

The Falcons repeated as OCAA Champions last weekend, as they won 2-0 over No. 4 Seneca in the provincial final. Fanshawe also won the OCAA West Division title with an undefeated 8-0-1 regular season record. They are led by four-time OCAA Player of the Year Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON) who had a nation's best 24 goals during the regular season, and netted an additional 11 in the OCAA playoffs.

 

The Holland Hurricanes were also undefeated in their conference, with a record of 11-0-1 during the regular season. Holland then won the ACAA championship 3-2 over St. Thomas University. Holland is led by striker Emily Cormier, who scored a team-high 14 goals during her season.
