(London, Ontario) – On Thursday, the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) named Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON) this season's Women's Soccer Player of the Year and a CCAA All-Canadian. This is the fourth time in her four-year OCAA career that she has garnered both esteemed honours (2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19).

Kovacevic led the Falcons to an OCAA West Division title and the number one ranking in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with an undefeated record of 8-0-1. Fanshawe was also awarded the West Division Best Defensive Team.

Kovacevic was also the OCAA League Scoring Champion, leading the conference in goals this season with 24, 12 goals ahead of her nearest competitor. Her 24 tallies also led the CCAA in scoring. The fifth-year striker set a new OCAA all-time scoring record with 103 career league goals. Kovacevic is the first soccer player in OCAA history to ever reach the century mark.

The Falcons' Nicole Nielsen (London, ON), Chelsea Zavitz (St. Thomas, ON) and Selena Roberts (London, ON) were all named OCAA West Division First Team League All-Stars for their excellent play this season. Fanshawe defenders Daniella Strano (London, ON), Amber-Lea Hodgins and Natasha Agbaba were all named to the OCAA West Division Second Team for only allowing a league-low five goals against all season.

The No. 1 nationally ranked Falcons Women's Soccer squad (10-0-1, 1st in West) will play the Sheridan Bruins (8-2-1, 3rd in West) in an OCAA semi-final match on Friday, October 25 at 12pm. The Championship is being hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster.
