(London, Ontario) – On Wednesday evening in their CCAA quarterfinal, the Fanshawe Women's Soccer team defeated the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Trojans 6-0. CCAA Player of the Year Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON) scored an incredible five goals for the Falcons in one of the greatest performances in CCAA Women's Soccer history. The Championship is being held in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Kovacevic netted her first goal of the game on a left-footed strike to the bottom corner of the net in the 27th minute. Four minutes later, she scored her second after splitting a pair of SAIT defenders. She slipped a third goal by the Trojan goalkeeper in the 37th minute and the Falcons held a 3-0 half time lead.

Fanshawe came out just as strong in the second half, quickly dispelling any SAIT thoughts of a comeback. A Kovacevic strike in the 48th minute and another in the 71st would be more than enough to propel the red and white to victory. Local striker Stephanie Middlemiss added another marker in the final minute and Fanshawe won the quarterfinal by a commanding 6-0 score. Kovacevic was named Fanshawe's Player of the Match.

The Falcons will now move on and face the winner of host Douglas College and the top seeded, Élans de Garneau. The semi-final match will be on Thursday, November 8 at 8:30pm EST (5:30pm PST).
