Kovacevic Named an OCAA Star of the Week

TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Sept. 9:

School: Fanshawe
Program: General Arts and Science
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Women's Soccer
Hometown: Acton, Ont.
On Saturday afternoon in the season opener for the Fanshawe Falcons, Jade Kovacevic broke an 18-year OCAA record for most goals in a match, when she scored nine times in a 16-0 home win over the Lambton Lions. The previous OCAA record of seven goals was set by Christine Stoneman of Mohawk in 2000. Kovacevic is now in second place on the OCAA women's soccer career goal scoring list with 58. Used to scoring in bunches, Kovacevic's previous personal best mark for goals in an OCAA match was six.
