(London, Ontario) – On Wednesday at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, the Fanshawe Indoor Soccer teams clinched spots in the OCAA Championships.
The reigning OCAA champion Fanshawe Men's Indoor Soccer squad went 3-1 on the day, good for second place at the OCAA Regional. They started off strong with victories over Laurier Brantford 5-0, Sault College 6-0 and the Durham Lords 3-2. The Falcons then dropped their final game 4-2 to the Humber Hawks.
The Falcons Women's team also had a successful OCAA Regional tournament, placing third with a record of 2-2. They defeated Laurier Brantford and Sault College 2-0 and 6-0 respectively. Fanshawe then lost a close match with Durham 1-0 before falling to defending champion Humber 2-0.
Both teams will now advance to the OCAA Provincial Championships, which take place at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan from March 7-8.
