Fanshawe Women’s Basketball Wins OCAA Quarterfinal

(London, Ontario) – On Friday afternoon, the Fanshawe Women's Basketball team (12-6, 3rd in West) defeated the Redeemer Royals (6-12, 7th in West) in a 62-52 quarterfinal victory at the OCAA provincial championship. The event is being hosted by Niagara College in Welland.

 

Fourth-year guard Jessica Jordan (Chatham, ON) was named the player of the game for the Falcons with an impressive 15 rebounds, 11 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block. Teammate Taya Spears (London, ON) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double of her own. OCAA First Team All-Star, Alison Cotton (London, ON) recorded 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. 

 

The Falcons now advance to the OCAA semi-final on Saturday, where they will face the No. 7 nationally ranked Humber Hawks (17-1, 1st in West) at 3:30 p.m. The game will be live streamed at: www.fanshawefalcons.ca/watchlive .
