(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics announced today, that Women's Basketball student-athlete Alison Cotton (London, ON) has been named the Fanshawe Female Student-Athlete of the Month for March, sponsored by the Fanshawe Alumni Association.

The third-year captain averaged a double-double in the month of March, scoring an average of 10.7 points and grabbing 12.7 rebounds per game. She also added 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest. In Fanshawe's 60-56 playoff loss to the St. Clair Saints, Cotton was the top defender for the Falcons, holding St. Clair's top player to only six points. Throughout the season, she led the Falcons on the glass with an impressive 69 rebounds in only six games played. Cotton was named an OCAA Second Team All-Star.

The Falcon guard/forward is currently in the Health Systems Management program.
