Paterson New Fanshawe All-Time Kill Leader

London, OntarioTanner Paterson (Baden, ON) etched his name in the Fanshawe Falcons record books on Saturday, becoming the all-time career kills leader in Fanshawe Men's Volleyball history. In a match against Sheridan, the fourth year outside hitter recorded the 488th kill of his career, surpassing alumnus Derek Braun's record of 487, set during Braun's tenure from 2011 to 2016.

A dominant presence on the court since joining the Falcons in the 2021-2022 season, Paterson has been instrumental to the team's success. With this milestone behind him, he now sets his sights on another Fanshawe record: Braun's all-time career points total of 665. Paterson's leadership will also be key as the Falcons pursue championship glory, aiming to replicate Braun's 2015-2016 squad, which claimed OCAA gold and CCAA bronze.

Paterson currently has 499 career kills and 610.5 career points with five league games remaining.

Fanshawe Men's Volleyball head coach Patrick Johnston praised Paterson's accomplishment:

""I'm happy for Tanner to have this feather in his cap. Not only has he racked up the Kills, but he's done it with efficiency. He makes good decisions, knows when to be aggressive and when to make a smart shot. He's a selfless attacker and been a huge part of our success over the past four years. Also, I suspect this will be just the first record he nabs this year, just 74 points away from surpassing Derek Braun in Falcons All-Time Points".

The Falcons return to action next weekend, continuing their strong season with back-to-back matches:

Saturday, January 18 vs. Boreal (Women's at 6:00 p.m., Men's at 8:00 p.m.)

Sunday, January 19 vs. Cambrian (Women's at 1:00 p.m., Men's at 3:00 p.m.)
