(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (11-10, 5th in West) fell 3-1 to No. 6 CCAA ranked Durham (18-2, 1st in East) in their OCAA semi-final match on Friday evening. The Championship is being hosted by Fleming College in Peterborough, ON.
The Falcons dropped the first two sets by close scores of 25-22 and 26-24. Fanshawe came out strong in the third set, winning 25-20 over the Lords. Unfortunately, the high-powered Durham squad took an early 7-0 lead to start the next set and it was too much for the Falcons to overcome. Durham won set four 25-22 and the match 3-1. Ewan Mason (London, ON) led the Falcons with 22 points and was named the Player of the Match for his performance.
The Falcons will now play for OCAA bronze on Saturday at 2:30 pm against the Georgian Grizzlies (17-3, 2nd in East). The match can be viewed live on fanshawefalcons.ca/watchlive.
