Fanshawe Men’s Volleyball Picks Up Second Win of the Weekend

(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (2-1) picked up another win on Sunday afternoon at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre. The Falcons defeated Cambrian (0-3) three sets to none.  

 

The Birds came out strong in the opening set, with three points from Kaleb Cole (Stratford, ON). A huge kill from James Pratt (Uxbridge, ON) excited the home crowd and extended Fanshawe's lead to 8-2. Hits from Daniel Ridings (St. Catharines, ON) continued to put pressure on Cambrian's defense. The Falcons would continue to overpower the Golden Shield and take set one 25-9.

 

Fanshawe continued their momentum in the second set, taking a dominating 11-2 lead. The Falcons got points from rookies Jackson Otten (Delaware, ON) and Elliott Leslie (London, ON). A service ace from Ian Talbot (London, ON) put the set out of reach for Cambrian. The red and white won set two 25-9.

 

Cole and Pratt continued to be forces for the Falcons in the third set, recording 16 and 11 points respectively in the match. Ridings added a pair of kills of his own to bring his game total to 11 points. Fanshawe defeated the Golden Shield three sets in a row, taking the final set 25-6.

 

On Wednesday, October 30, the Falcons will take on the Redeemer Royals (1-0) in Ancaster.
