(London, Ontario) – The #10 nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Soccer team (5-0-1) extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 23 games with a 4-1 win over the St. Clair Saints (2-4) on Wednesday evening.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the match, when Ryan Baker (Strathroy, ON) sent a beautiful ball to Mike Sneddon (Mount Brydges, ON) who dribbled past the Saint's keeper for the goal. St. Clair had a chance to even the score shortly after, but Dan Eppenberger (Woodstock, ON) made two strong defensive plays to hold the Saints scoreless. In the 37th minute, Fanshawe centreback Bradley Heath (Markham, ON) sent a pass to Sneddon, who found Ben Vyfschaft (London, ON) in front of the St. Clair net. Vyfschaft scored on a well-placed shot to the back of the net to make the score 2-0 at the half.

The Saints stepped up their offense in the second half and had some good chances, but Falcons goalkeeper Alex Jakma (Richmond Hill, ON) was solid, recording nine saves. Vyfschaft and Sneddon both picked up a second goal to extend Fanshawe's lead to 4-0. St. Clair would then slide one past Jakma in the 87th minute, but it wouldn't be enough, as the Falcons went on to win 4-1.

The West Division leading Falcons will be on the road for their next match on Saturday, September 29. Fanshawe will take on the Lambton Lions (0-5) in Sarnia at 3pm.
