Fanshawe Men’s Team Takes Down Lambton to Win Second in a Row

(London Ontario) – The Falcons (2-5) took on Lambton (3-3) at a busy Glenn Johnson Athletic Centre on Wednesday night and secured their second win in as many games by a score of 71-50.

The first quarter saw Fanshawe set the pace of the game, as they started off on a 7-0 run to take early command. Brandon Bogart (St. Thomas, ON) was a catalyst for the offence all night long, finishing with a game high 23 points, seven of which came in the first quarter. Bogart's efficient scoring combined with Fanshawe's sturdy defence helped the Birds close the quarter with a 22-15 lead.

The second quarter saw big man Lennon Campos (Georgetown, ON) make his mark as he operated down low for six points and six rebounds in the frame. Campos also brought energy on the defensive end as he helped protect the paint all night long. The Falcons team defence held Lambton to only nine points in the quarter which helped the Birds take a 37-24 lead into halftime.

Fanshawe entered the second half with the same energy as they started the game with and opened the third quarter on an 8-0 run. OCAA rebounding leader, Da'Marion Ennis (12.2 per game) (Windsor, ON) went to work in the paint as he snatched seven of his 15 rebounds in the third quarter. Bogart continued to put the ball in the basket as he led the offence with eight points in the third, helping Fanshawe take a 53-31 lead into the fourth.

The Birds showed no let up in the final quarter as Tyrease Phouttharath (Centralia, ON) got things going on the break, dishing out back-to-back dimes for easy lay ins. Phouttharath played floor general all night as he finished with eight assists in the game. The Falcons defence and size proved too much for Lambton to handle as both big men Campos and Ennis finished their nights with double doubles.

Tonight was Fanshawe's 519Pursuit Sock game and we would like to thank everyone who flocked the nest and donated to this great initiative. Together, we surpassed our goal of 519 and collected 689 pairs of socks to support the cause.

The men's squad will be back in action on Saturday, as they travel to Windsor to take on No. 1 nationally ranked St. Clair (5-0) at 3:00pm.
