(London Ontario) – On Wednesday night at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (0-5) dropped their game against the Humber Hawks (4-0) by a score of 79-57.
The Falcons got off to a good start against a very strong Humber squad in the first half. Fanshawe scoring was led off the bench by Mohammad Al-Sama'Neh (London, ON), who scored eight points in the quarter, knocking down both his three-point attempts. After the opening frame, the score was even 16-16.
The second quarter was Brandon Bogart's (St. Thomas, ON) time to shine, as he rained in 10 points, adding two three-pointers of his own in the quarter. In a tight back and forth game, the Falcons had a 34-32 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Humber began to press the issue and overwhelmed the Falcons on both ends of the floor. A red hot fourth quarter for the Hawks saw them score 29 points on nearly 60 percent shooting, which proved too much for the Falcons. Al-Sama'Neh was a bright spot for the Falcons as he dropped an efficient 17 points on 6/8 shooting in just 15 minutes of play.
The Falcons will look to end their four game homestand with a win against the Lambton Lions (2-2) on Wednesday November 13th at 8:00pm. Wednesday's game against the Lions will be Fanshawe's 519pursuit Sock game, where the Falcons will be taking donations of new pairs of socks to support the homeless community in London.
