Two Falcons Named OCAA Men’s Basketball League All-Stars

(London, Ontario) – Two Fanshawe Falcons Men's Basketball team members were honoured for their accomplishments this season as the OCAA handed out their 2019-20 league awards on Thursday evening.

 

Alfred JohnsonOCAA First Team All-Star: 

Alfred Johnson (London, ON) led the Falcons with 20.4 points per game, good for sixth place in the OCAA. He shot 51.8% from the field and 76.2% from the free throw line. Johnson was second in the league in rebounds per game with 11.1 and added 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. He set new Fanshawe Men's Basketball records for most rebounds in a season with 189 and is the Fanshawe Men's Basketball all-time rebounding leader with 412 career boards. The fourth-year forward had ten double-doubles this season.

 

Marko MaleticOCAA Rookie of the Year, West Division All-Rookie Team and Second Team All-Star:

Marko Maletic (London, ON) had an impressive rookie campaign. He was top eight in the league averaging 19.9 points to go along with 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The shooting guard went 45.8% from the field, 37.6% from long range and 85.9% from the free throw line in his first season. Maletic also set a new Fanshawe Men's Basketball record for most 3-pointers made in a season with 64. This is the first time in Fanshawe Men's Basketball history that a Falcon has been named the overall OCAA Rookie of the Year.
