(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at the Glenn Johnston Athletics Centre, the Fanshawe Men's Basketball team (9-9) fell to the Conestoga Condors (6-12) by a score of 93-92.

Conestoga started the game strong, jumping out to an 11-2 lead. Rookie Falcons guard Adrian Stevens (Toronto, ON) had a hoop and the harm on a fast break as the home team tried to chip away. After the first frame, the score was 24-14 for the Condors.

Fanshawe stepped up their game in the second quarter, with sharp shooting from behind the arc by Marko Maletic (London, ON). Maletic shot 80% from the field in the frame, leading the Falcons with 11 points. Stevens would add a three pointer of his own to cut Conestoga's lead to only three going into half time, 46-43.

The teams traded points in the third quarter, with the Falcons finding success in strong post moves by Alfred Johnson (London, ON). Jump shots from Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON) and D'Andre Austin (Toronto, ON) continued the scoring for the red and white, but Fanshawe still trailed 69-66 going into the final quarter.

Conestoga scored the first two buckets of the final frame, but the Falcons would quickly regroup and tied the game at 73 on another triple from Maletic. With just over two minutes remaining, back-to-back made free throws by Johnson gave Fanshawe an 89-83 advantage. Unfortunately, the Condors would hit big shots down the stretch to come back and ultimately win the game with two made free throws, 93-92.

Maletic had an impressive shooting night with 25 points, including 7/10 from long range. Johnson recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Stevens added 18 points. Fanshawe will play their final home game of the season on Thursday, February 20 at 8pm against Mohawk (10-6).
