Evans Wins Fanshawe-First National Gold, Team Claims CCAA Silver, Landers Individual Bronze

(London, Ontario) – On Friday at the CCAA National Golf Championship, Fanshawe's Luke Evans (Georgetown, ON) made history by winning the CCAA individual gold medal - the first ever for a Falcons golfer at a CCAA tournament. The Falcons captured the national team silver medal, which is also the best team finish in Fanshawe history. Joining Evans' on the individual podium is teammate Ben Landers (Delaware, ON) who claimed the individual bronze medal.

Evans' stellar performance featured a four-day total of 288 (+4), setting a new Fanshawe record for the best four-day score at a CCAA tournament, surpassing the previous mark set by Mitchell Hampson in 2022. Evans carded rounds of 71, 76, 71 and 70 to secure a championship-winning finish. Landers, close behind in 3rd place, recorded a total score of 296 over rounds of 73, 73, 72 and 78. Both golfers earned CCAA All-Canadian honours in recognition of their exceptional performances.

As a team, Fanshawe finished with a four-day total of 1197 (+61). The Falcons medal-winning squad also featured strong contributions from John Van Bilsen (Glencoe, ON) (7th, 300), who was also named a CCAA All-Canadian, Austin Kuiack (London, ON) (32nd, 316) and Griffin Rowe (Ailsa Craig, ON) (T33rd, 317). The team's accomplishments were guided by Head Coach Colin Robertson and Assistant Coach Stuart Kidon, whose leadership played a pivotal role in the Falcons' historic CCAA performance.
