OCAA Announces Softball and Baseball League Award Winners

(London, Ontario) – The OCAA announced the Women's Softball and Men's Baseball league award winners for the 2024-25 season.

 

First-year pitcher Kyle Dalrymple (Exeter, ON) was named to the Women's Softball OCAA All-Rookie Team for her excellent play this season. In her debut year with the Falcons, Dalrymple made a significant impact both on the mound and at the plate. She led the OCAA in complete games (8) and innings pitched (69.0), recording five wins, 60 strikeouts, and a 3.45 ERA (10th in OCAA). A versatile player, Dalrymple also excelled offensively, finishing 6th in the OCAA with 21 RBIs while posting a slash line of .371/.424/.514. Fanshawe Softball is set to compete in the OCAA Provincial Championship at Babcock Field in Oshawa, hosted by Durham College. The Falcons (11-13, 5th) will face off against the Conestoga Condors (13-11, 4th) in their first-round playoff game on Thursday October 17th, at 5:30 p.m.

 

On the Men's Baseball side, first-year catcher Charles Bowman (London, ON) earned OCAA Second Team All-Star honours for his outstanding performance this season for Fanshawe. A steady presence behind the plate, Bowman ranked 2nd in the OCAA with 89 putouts, while also making his mark offensively, finishing with a .339 batting average and 21 hits, good for 7th in the OCAA. Rounding out the crop of award-winning rookies, first-year shortstop Nolan Rice (Port Hope, ON) claimed his spot on the OCAA All-Rookie Team for his exceptional debut season. Rice made an immediate impact at the plate for the Falcons, finishing in the top five in the OCAA for both batting average (.465) and on-base percentage (.579).

 

The Men's Baseball team will travel to Sarnia to compete in the OCAA Provincial Championship, hosted by Lambton College at Errol Russel Park. The Falcons (8-10, 5th) will battle the host, Lambton Lions (12-6, 4th), in their first playoff matchup on Thursday, October 17th, at 3:00 p.m. The live stream can be found here: https://ocaa.live/
