Fanshawe Badminton Cracks Nation’s Top 15 in Opening Rankings

(London, Ontario) – In the first edition of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Badminton rankings, Fanshawe sits at No. 13 in the nation.  

 

The Fanshawe Badminton squad had a successful host tournament last weekend, with Women's Doubles pair of Han Pham (Vietnam) and Maeyen Chua (Philippines) finishing in second place in the top flight. Pham also finished tied for third in the Women's Singles event. On the Men's side, Jithin Suresh (India) and Hein Van (Vietnam) also finished tied for third in the top flight of Men's Doubles, falling only in the semi-final to the eventual champions from Seneca. The Falcons' next event will be from December 7-8 at George Brown College in Toronto.

 

The Falcons Women's Volleyball team are ranked as the top Ontario team at No. 4. Fanshawe is currently 6-0 this season and are riding a 28-game OCAA win streak. The Women's Basketball squad is currently 6-1 and ranked No. 9 in Canada. Both rankings are unchanged from last week.
