Pham Named SupplementSource.ca Female Student-Athlete of the Month

(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics announced today, that Women's Badminton student-athlete Han Pham (Danang, Vietnam) has been named the SupplementSource.ca Fanshawe Female Student-Athlete of the Month for March.

 

Pham led the Falcons Women's Doubles Badminton team to a CCAA National Bronze medal at the Championships hosted by Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia from March 6-9. This was Fanshawe's first Women's Doubles CCAA medal since 2004-05. The team of Pham and Helen Ngu (London, ON) finished in third place in round robin play with a record of 3-2. They then faced the second ranked Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in the CCAA semi-final and fell in three sets (21-15, 11-21, 14-21). In the bronze medal match against Concordia, Fanshawe found themselves down four points early in the first set. The Falcons quickly regrouped, winning some long and hard fought rallies. Behind strong play from Pham, Fanshawe held on and captured a 21-19 first set win. In the second set, Pham caught fire and scored three straight points to go up 11-8. Fanshawe continued their hustle throughout and Pham finished off the match on a rocket smash to win 21-16.

 

Pham is enrolled in the Culinary Skills program and will receive a SupplementSource.ca health and wellness package for her accomplishments.
