Promotion Assistant - Graphic Designer Job Description

 

Overview:  Fanshawe College, under a partnership agreement with the Fanshawe College Student Union, competes in selected intercollegiate sports within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (O.C.A.A.) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (C.C.A.A.).  Under the same agreement the college operates an extensive intramural athletics program involving over 5000 student athletes. The objective of this position is to contribute to the publicity and promotion activities of the Athletics Department, which in turn are aimed at maximizing student participation and enjoyment of all facets of the athletics programs.

 

Duties:  Under the supervision of the Manager of Athletics or a designate, the incumbent assists in the design and preparation of all promotional materials pertaining to the Student Athletics programs, including game day, tournament and special events posters well in advance of the events. The incumbent develops, designs and formats the production of a Varsity Year in Review and special printed programs / posters. 

 

Qualification:  Applicants must have working knowledge of both PC and Mac computers specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Also, applicants must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and basic knowledge of marketing and public relations while working in a team setting.  Applicants must be a full time registered student at Fanshawe College in a program which is relevant to the above duties. Preference is given to students in programs such as the School of Art & Media Design (Corporate Communications, Business Marketing, or Graphic Design).

 

Remuneration:  The Publications Assistant will be paid the current minimum wage. Hours per week: Fall/Winter (5-15), Summer (30)
