A Cambridge native, Joanne Verbeek came to Fanshawe College in 1990, where she graduated from the Fitness and Health Promotion program in 1992. During this time, she ran for the Fanshawe Cross Country team and won an OCAA Team Gold medal in 1991. Verbeek began working at Fanshawe Athletics in 1993 part time and then became full time in 1997. Since her time as a Varsity Athletic Officer, her programs have been extremely successful.
