(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Athletics has responded to a need in the local community with a donation of their entire stock of medical gloves to the Oxford County Paramedic Services.

The department donated 1,450 pair of latex gloves to support front line health care workers in our region.

"The City of London and our local community have always been so supportive of our nationally recognized program and we are happy to be able to support them in this way," said Nathan McFadden, Fanshawe's Manager of Athletics. "Having some of our former student-athletes as graduates of Fanshawe's Paramedic, Nursing and Respiratory Therapy programs, we have alumni who are on the front lines fighting this pandemic. We are so proud of the contributions they are making and appreciate the commitment and courage shown by all of the health care staff in our community."

This personal protective equipment would normally be used by Fanshawe's training staff to treat the injuries of student-athletes but will now be used by health care workers who are caring for the residents of Oxford County.
