(London, Ontario) – With the Falcons Women's and Men's Curling teams winning OCAA titles on Sunday, Fanshawe Athletics has now set a new Fanshawe record for most provincial championships in a single season with eight. The previous record of six was set in 1978-79, 1987-88 and 2017-18. The Falcons teams have also now garnered 20 overall medals this season which ties the Fanshawe record set in 2017-18 for most medals in a season.

So far during 2018-19, Fanshawe has brought home three OCAA gold medals in golf, two in cross country, one in soccer and two in curling. They have also captured four national medals, including a Women's Cross Country team CCAA Championship.

The Falcons will look to add to that total next weekend at the OCAA Volleyball championships. Both teams finished the regular season at the top of the OCAA West Division with undefeated records. Fanshawe's Men's team is currently ranked #1 in the country, while the Women's team sit at #5.

"These incredible achievements are a credit to the work of our tremendous coaching staff and the outstanding character, skill and compete level of our student-athletes" stated Nathan McFadden, Fanshawe's Manager of Athletics. "To have every single team medal to date is absolutely exceptional and a testament to the overall strength of our Athletics program."
