Four Fanshawe Falcons Teams in National Rankings

(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's and Men's Golf teams, and Women's and Men's Soccer teams are all represented in the top ten in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Rankings this week.

 

The Women's Golf team is ranked #7 in Canada after being the top college team in two of three tournaments last week. The Fanshawe Women's team consists of rookie Alyssa Stoddart (Orangeville, ON) and Mery Tarigan (Kabanjahe, Indonesia). Stoddart was the top college female finisher in all three events. The Men's Golf squad cracked the top ten in the national rankings this week. The Falcons are led by returning players Thomas Code (Dorchester, ON) and Blake Mackey (Walkerton, ON). From Monday, October 1 to Wednesday, October 3, Fanshawe Athletics is hosting the OCAA Golf Provincial Championship at FireRock Golf Club.

 

The Women's Soccer team is #8 in the nation after a 6-0 start to OCAA league play. The Falcons will look to extend their winning streak on Saturday, September 29 at Lambton (0-5). Other Women's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (4), Seneca (7) and Sheridan (9).  

 

The Men's Soccer squad (4-0-1) sit at #10 in the CCAA National Rankings. They are currently riding a 22-game regular season unbeaten streak, dating back to September 17, 2016. The Falcons host the St. Clair Saints (2-3) tonight at 5pm. Other Men's Soccer teams in the OCAA that are ranked include Humber (2) and Durham (9).
