Vito Frijia was a member of the Fanshawe College Men's Basketball team from 1979-82. As team captain, he led his team to back-to-back Provincial & National Championship titles in 1980 and 1981. During his career, the London, Ontario native, was recognized as a Provincial Second Team All-Star, a National Championship Team All-Star and was named the CCAA Tournament MVP at the 1979-80 National Championships. Frijia capped off a historic collegiate career, when he was named the 1980-81 Fanshawe College Male Athlete of the Year. Vito graduated from the Construction Engineering Technology program in 1982. In 2007, Frijia was named to the OCAA All Millennium Men's Basketball Team and was presented the Fanshawe College Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011. In 2016, Frijia was inducted into the CCAA Hall of Fame in the Athlete category, becoming Fanshawe's first ever CCAA Hall of Fame member.
