Bill Carriere was the head coach of the Fanshawe Falcons Women's Basketball team for seven seasons, from 1987-94. The Falcons found immediate success with Carriere as head coach, winning four OCAA championships (1987-88, 1988-89, 1991-92, and 1993-94). In four of those seasons, he was named the OCAA Coach of the Year as well as CCAA Coach of the Year in 1993-1994. Over his seven seasons, Carriere's team had a league record of 64 wins and 26 losses, good for a .711 winning percentage. Fanshawe won 10 or more games a season four different times under Carriere, going undefeated in 1993-1994 with a 12-0 record.
