Fanshawe Women’s Volleyball to Face Red Deer in CCAA Quarterfinal Match

(London, Ontario) – The OCAA Champion and No. 6 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Women's Volleyball team will travel to Quebec City for the CCAA National Championship from March 11-14. The National Championship will be hosted by Garneau. In the quarterfinal, the Falcons will face No. 5 Red Deer at 3pm EST on Thursday, March 12.

 

The Falcons repeated as OCAA Champions last weekend, as they won 3-1 over No. 15 Humber in the provincial final. Fanshawe also won the OCAA West Division title with a 17-1 regular season record. They are led by two-time OCAA Player of the Year Janelle Albert (Brampton, ON) who had an OCAA-best 5.9 points per set during the regular season and 7.4 points per set at the OCAA provincial championship.

 

The Red Deer Queens had a regular season record of 21-3 and finished second in the ACAC conference tournament after a 3-2 gold medal match loss to No. 2 Briercrest. Red Deer is led by the duo of Tess Pearman and Emma Holmes who average 3.8 and 3.6 points per set respectively.
