Fanshawe Moves to 8-0 with Victory over Sheridan

(London, Ontario) – At home on Sunday afternoon, the No. 4 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Women's Volleyball squad (8-0) won three sets to none over the Sheridan Bruins (1-6). The win extended their OCAA winning streak to 30 games.

 

The red and white dominated the first set, going on an 8-0 run midway through the frame to make the score 18-8. The Falcons continued their strong play with four consecutive service aces from Janelle Albert (Brampton, ON) to put the set away. Fanshawe won set one 25-9.

 

In the second set the teams traded points for most of the frame. With the score tied at 21, a kill from Tarea Heshka (Erin, ON), followed by two more aces from Albert gave the Falcons a 25-21 win.

 

Hits from Mattea Deleary (Ridgetown, ON) and Skylar Johnston (Hamilton, ON) gave Fanshawe a two-point lead midway through the third frame. The Falcons would extend their lead and go on to win the third set 25-19 and take a 3-0 victory. Albert finished with a game-high 23 points, including an incredible 10 aces.

 

Fanshawe will close out first semester play at Niagara (5-2) on Saturday, November 30.
