(London, Ontario) – On Tuesday evening at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) banquet in Edmonton, Alberta, Falcons striker Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON) was named the CCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Since the award was introduced in 1996, Kovacevic is the first Women's Soccer player ever to be named the CCAA Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons.
Kovacevic led the Falcons to an undefeated OCAA season and ultimately a Provincial Championship title. She had a nation's-best 24 regular season goals this year, 12 ahead of her nearest competitor. Kovacevic was named the OCAA Player of the Year this season, the fourth time she's won the award, along with being named the OCAA Championship MVP for the second consecutive season. After four OCAA seasons, Kovacevic set a new OCAA all-time scoring record with 103 career league goals. Kovacevic is the first soccer player in OCAA history to ever reach the century mark.

The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team is ranked as the top seed in the country and hopes to continue their success this week at the National Championship. The Falcons will play the 13th ranked Holland Hurricanes in a CCAA quarterfinal match on Wednesday, November 6 at 12pm EST (10am MST).
