(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Women's Soccer team dropped their CCAA semi-final game to top seeded Élans de Garneau on Thursday evening by a score of 2-1. The Championship is being hosted by Douglas College in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Garneau wasted no time getting on the board, as they scored a header off of a corner kick in the 4th minute of play. The Élans stretched their lead to 2-0 before the end of the first half. Fanshawe pressured Garneau in the second half, resulting in a goal in the 58th minute. Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON) won a race to the ball on the right side of the field and sent a beautiful cross to Nicole Nielsen (London, ON), who scored for the Falcons. Fanshawe continued to apply pressure to the 4-time defending National champions for the remainder of the game but their comeback wasn't to be, and the Falcons fell by a final score of 2-1. Selena Roberts (London, ON) was named Fanshawe's Player of the Match.
