(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon in the Falcons season opener, Women's Soccer student-athlete Jade Kovacevic (Georgetown, ON) broke the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) record for most goals in a game, when she scored nine times in Fanshawe's 16-0 home win over the Lambton Lions.

The previous OCAA record of seven goals was set by Christine Stoneman of Mohawk College in 2000. Kovacevic is now in second place on the OCAA Women's Soccer career goal scoring list with 58. Nicole Nielsen (London, ON) and Chelsea Zavitz (St. Thomas, ON) added three and two goals respectively in the Falcons victory. With the 16-0 result, the talented 2018 squad set a new Fanshawe Soccer record for most team goals in a single game, breaking the previous record of 11 (Sept. 23, 2017 vs. Redeemer). Kovacevic and Sheree Uyl previously held the Fanshawe record for most goals in a game with six.

Fanshawe will be on the road for their next three matches, starting on Tuesday, September 11, when they will face the St. Clair Saints (1-0-0) in Windsor.
