The No. 7-seeded Fanshawe Falcons upset the No. 2-seeded Georgian Grizzlies 69-64 on the road on Feb. 17 to advance to the OCAA quarter-finals. Smith recorded a team-high 17 points and four steals off the bench, shooting an impressive 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) beyond the three-point arc. The first-year guard made crucial plays late in the game to lead the Falcons to their biggest victory of the season. Smith averaged 8.9 points per game during the regular season. Fanshawe will now visit the No. 3 Niagara Knights in Saturday's quarter-final.
