Chuot Angou Named an OCAA Star of the Week

TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Mar. 3:

School: Fanshawe
Program: Police Foundations
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Women's Basketball
Hometown: London, Ont.
Angou was named Championship MVP at provincials, leading Fanshawe to its first OCAA women's basketball title since 2003. The OCAA Player of the Year recorded double digits in points in each of Fanshawe's three games at the championship, including a game-high 20 in a 78-72 victory over St. Clair in the gold medal game. She also contributed six rebounds against St. Clair. In Fanshawe's 80-39 win over Niagara in the semifinals, Angou was 3-of-5 beyond the three-point arch scoring nine of her 14 points. Fanshawe moves on to nationals later this month in Sainte-Foy, Que.
