(London, Ontario) – The OCAA Champion Fanshawe Women's Basketball team will travel to Quebec City for the CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship from March 14-16. The National Championship will be hosted by Sainte Foy.

In their quarterfinal, the #1 nationally ranked Falcons (23-1) will face the Keyano Huskies (16-8) from the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) at 8:30pm EST on Thursday, March 14.

Fanshawe has a very balanced offense but is led by OCAA Player of the Year and championship MVP Chuot Angou (London, ON) who averaged a team-high 15 points per game at the provincial championship. The Falcons depth was evident over the OCAA tournament as nine different Falcons recorded points in the gold medal game. Fifth-year point guard Laura Vere (Stratford, ON) was named a Tournament All-Star for her excellent performance on both ends of the floor.

The Huskies are led by all-star forward Moiyan Toure, who averages 14.8 points per game and leads the ACAC in both field goal percentage (58%) and rebounds per game (13.5). Keyano claimed the Alberta silver medal, falling to Olds College in their tournament final by a score of 54-51.
