Fanshawe Women’s Basketball Top Rankings for First Time in History

(London, Ontario) – In this week's Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) weekly rankings, the Fanshawe Women's Basketball team (14-1) have moved up one spot to #1 in the country.

 

This is the first time in Women's Basketball history that the Falcons have been ranked #1. The team has won ten straight games, including two comfortable victories over Sault College last weekend. The Falcons lead the province in numerous statistical categories including; points per game (82.5), field goal percentage (43.3%), assists per game (22), rebound margin (15.3) and points per game allowed (46.7). Other OCAA teams that are nationally ranked include Humber (11) and Algonquin (14).

 

The Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (14-0) are ranked #1 in the country for the 10th straight week. The Falcons are currently riding a 45-game OCAA regular season win streak after a 3-0 win over Niagara last Saturday. The Falcons will now have their toughest week of the season, as they face #9 Redeemer (10-4) on Tuesday and #4 Humber (14-1) on Saturday.

 

The Women's Volleyball squad sits at #5 in the nation again this week after a 3-1 victory over #10 St. Clair last Wednesday. The Other OCAA team that is ranked nationally is Humber at #14, who the Falcons will host on Saturday, February 2 at 1pm.
