(London, Ontario) – Fanshawe Men's Volleyball alumnus James Jackson (London, ON) has signed a professional contract with the Netzhoppers Volleyball Club in Germany. The Netzhoppers are a member of the German top league and are located just outside of Berlin in a town called Königs Wusterhausen.

In his three years with the Falcons (2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19), Jackson won a CCAA National Championship to go along with a CCAA bronze medal, two OCAA gold and an OCAA bronze. He is a three-time CCAA and OCAA Championship All-Star and had an incredible OCAA career record of 51-1. Jackson was also a part of the Canada Junior National Team and the National Excellence Program.

"I am very excited to go overseas to Germany," stated Jackson. "I'm looking forward to competing and learning about myself on and off the court in a new setting. This is a great opportunity for me to learn and grow. I loved my three years at Fanshawe and I feel that playing within such a professional culture has prepared me well for this opportunity. I will definitely be back in the Falcons Nest during future off-seasons!"

"I'm really happy to see James head to Germany to play professionally," added Fanshawe Men's Volleyball Head Coach Patrick Johnston. "He was a big piece of our recent success here at Fanshawe and as tough as it is for him to leave our program, I think he's more than ready for this next step. I'm excited to see how much damage he can do for the Netzhoppers!"
