Fanshawe Falcons Men’s Volleyball Honoured With OCAA League Awards

(London, Ontario) – Six Fanshawe Men's Volleyball players were honoured for their accomplishments this season as the OCAA handed out their 2018-19 league awards. The Falcons also received the OCAA West Division Regular Season Champions plaque.

 

Sebastian LethbridgeOCAA First Team All-Star: 

Sebastian Lethbridge (London, ON) was a key piece of the Falcons success this season, accumulating 444 total assists. The fourth-year setter averaged 8.54 assists per set, good for fifth in the league. Lethbridge also added 43 kills, 75 digs and 13 service aces. This season saw Lethbridge become the Falcons all-time assists leader, as he has tallied 1359 career assists.

 

Zach AlbertOCAA First Team All-Star: 

Zach Albert (Brampton, ON) led Fanshawe's high-powered offense with 3.9 points per set this season. He recorded 145 kills, 24 aces and 11 blocks and had a fifth-best .379 hitting percentage in the OCAA.

 

Mike LiscumbOCAA First Team All-Star: 

Fourth-year middle blocker Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) compiled 45 kills, 18 blocks, 13 digs and six service aces for the Falcons during the 2018-19 season.

 

David GundrumOCAA Second Team All-Star: 

David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) finished the season fourth in the OCAA West Division in digs per set (2.38). The fifth-year libero has been a stable and calming presence for the top-ranked Fanshawe squad.

 

Mitch McFaddenOCAA Second Team All-Star:               

Mitch McFadden (St. Paul's, ON) added more depth to the Falcons' team this season, recording a team-high 22 blocks. He also added 50 kills and eight service aces.

 

James PrattOCAA West All-Rookie Team: 

James Pratt (Uxbridge, ON) averaged 2.4 points and 0.42 blocks per set in his first year with the Falcons. Pratt led Fanshawe with a .569 hitting percentage.

 

The #1 nationally ranked Falcons (19-0, 1st in West) will face the Conestoga Condors (11-8, 5th in West), in an OCAA quarterfinal match at 3pm on Thursday, February 21. The Championship is being hosted by Humber College in Etobicoke.
