(London, Ontario) – At the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Wednesday evening, the #1 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 44 matches. The Falcons (13-0) swept the St. Clair Saints (3-10) in the match, dedicated to mental health awareness.

First-year middle James Pratt (Uxbridge, ON) opened the scoring for the Falcons with a strong kill. Taylor Jordan (London, ON) followed that with a left-side kill to extend Fanshawe's lead to 8-2. The Birds continued to roll with hits from local outside hitters James Jackson and Cole Jordan. Fanshawe won the first set 25-13.

The home team used their momentum from the opening set to quickly go up 7-1 in set two. Pratt made his presence known with back-to-back kills for the Falcons. An attack from Alec Bugler (London, ON) stretched Fanshawe's lead to 16-7 midway through the set. Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) and Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) notched a pair of kills of their own and the Falcons went on to win the second set 25-11.

The red and white used their well-balanced attack to take an early lead again in the third set. St. Clair stayed within reach but a Matthew Stokes (Dover Centre, ON) hit quickly got Fanshawe back on track. The Falcons continued to soar from there and took the final set 25-14 and the match 3-0. Taylor Jordan led Fanshawe with 12 points, while fifth-year libero David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) brought his career dig total to 593. Gundrum currently sits in fifth place on the OCAA all-time career digs list.

The next home event for the Falcons will be on Saturday, January 26 at 3pm against the Niagara Knights. The match will be a part of Fanshawe Athletics annual Falcons Fest event, a quad-header with free food and Falcons swag for fans while supplies last.
