(London, Ontario) – At the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Saturday night, the #1 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team moved to 9-0 on the season after a three set sweep over Sheridan (3-5). The Falcons finished the first half of the regular season without dropping a single set and extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 40 matches.

Local outside hitter Cole Jordan got the offense going for the Birds with a left-side kill. A well-placed tip by Mitch McFadden (St. Pauls, ON) stretched Fanshawe's first set lead to 15-7. A strong back row hit from Zach Albert (Brampton, ON) gave the Falcons momentum and Fanshawe took the opening set by a score of 25-12.

Sheridan came out strong in the second set as the teams exchanged points. Fourth-year setter Sebastian Lethbridge (London, ON) had a kill to give the home team a slim 14-13 advantage. Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) then had back-to-back kills of his own to create some separation from the Bruins. The Falcons went on to win set two 25-17.

In set three, Fanshawe had points from rookie James Pratt (Uxbridge, ON), who recorded two service aces in a row, and Matthew Stokes (Dover Centre, ON). Lethbridge led the Falcons offensively as the set closed out, recording a kill and ending the match on a service ace. Fanshawe would win the third set 25-15 and ultimately the match 3-0.

As a team, the Falcons lead the OCAA in hitting percentage (.412) and assists per set (10.33) after first semester play. Fanshawe will resume league play on January 11, when they travel to Hamilton to face the Mohawk Mountaineers (5-3).
