(London, Ontario) – In a battle of two of the nation's best, the #1 nationally ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball squad prevailed, defeating the #13 Redeemer Royals three sets to none. In front of their home crowd, the Falcons moved to 5-0 on the season and stretched their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 36 matches.

Fanshawe had a strong start to the match, going up 9-3 after a service ace from London native James Jackson. Zach Albert (Brampton, ON) followed that with a massive left side kill that got the fans on their feet. The Falcons would continue to pour it on with a strong kill from Jackson. Fanshawe won the opening set 25-15.

The red and white overpowered the Royals again in set two. A dig from Fanshawe libero David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) set up Cole Jordan (London, ON) for the tip. Jackson followed that with yet another kill to give the Birds an 18-10 advantage. Redeemer could not recover from the deficit, and Fanshawe rolled to a 25-11 second set win.

Mitch McFadden (St. Pauls, ON) opened the scoring for the Falcons in the third set that started a 7-0 run. Third-year middle Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) had a hit that extended Fanshawe's lead to 15-3. Exceptional serving by Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) kept the Falcons on top, as they would take the set by a commanding score of 25-9 to sweep the match. Fanshawe was led by Jackson and Albert, who both finished the match with 13 points.

Next up, the Falcons will travel up north to Sudbury to take on Boréal (0-2) on Saturday, November 17, followed by Cambrian (0-2) on Sunday, November 18.
