#1 Nationally Ranked Fanshawe Men’s Volleyball Defeats Conestoga

(London, Ontario) – The #1 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team moved to 4-0 on the season after defeating Conestoga (1-1) in three straight sets. With the win, the Falcons extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 35 matches.

 

In the opening set, Fanshawe got kills from veterans Cole Jordan (London, ON) and Zach Albert (Brampton, ON). The Condors notched a few points of their own to stay within reach of the Falcons. London native Sebastian Lethbridge set up outside hitter James Jackson (London, ON) for a strong kill that gave Fanshawe momentum. The home team would go on to win the first set 25-18.

 

Jordan was solid offensively for the red and white, notching five kills in the second frame. A back row attack from Albert kept the Falcons rolling. A kill from Lethbridge won the set for Fanshawe, 25-18.  

 

In the third set, a great dig by Falcons libero David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) created an opportunity for Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON), who made no mistake in notching the point. A left-side kill by Jackson gave Fanshawe an 11-7 advantage. A hit from Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) stretched the lead as the Falcons ultimately would outlast Conestoga. Fanshawe swept the match 3-0 with a 25-13 third set victory. Jordan was the top performer for Fanshawe with 15 points in the match.

 

Fanshawe's next match will be versus the Redeemer Royals (1-1) at home on Wednesday, November 7 at 8pm.
