(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre, the Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (2-0) won 3-0 over Mohawk (2-1). The Falcons extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 33 matches, while wearing pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness.

In set one, the Falcons got the first point on a block by 2017-18 OCAA Male Athlete of the Year Cole Jordan (London, ON). A back row attack by Zach Albert (Brampton, ON) notched another point for Fanshawe. Mohawk stayed within reach of Fanshawe with some great digs. A block from Mitch McFadden (St. Pauls, ON) got the crowd on their feet and the home team went on to win the opening set 25-20.

The Falcons came out flying in the second set, taking a 7-1 lead. A kill from local outside hitter James Jackson excited the home fans. Sebastian Lethbridge (London, ON) then set up Jordan to extend Fanshawe's lead to 16-8. Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) followed that with another Falcons point on a stuff block. The red and white would win set two by a score of 25-10.

Mohawk had an early 7-6 advantage in the third set due to some service errors by the Falcons. Fifth-year libero David Gundrum (Port Elgin, ON) set up Sam Otten (Delaware, ON) for a left-side kill that gave Fanshawe a slim 12-10 lead. Another hit from Otten got the home team rolling, going on a 7-1 run. The Mountaineers could not recover and the Falcons won the final set 25-17 to sweep the match.

On Wednesday, October 31, the Falcons will take on the St. Clair Saints (0-2) in Windsor.
